Language Arts:
-continue reading your book each evening and return to class every day
-book read is due February 20th
-instructions for book read will be given this week

-Grammar exercises are due on Wednesday with test on Friday
-know the meaning of all key words from Unit 15

Social Studies
-bring in all information for the myth assignment every day
-assignment should be worked on every evening
-information should have been reviewed with your 10 major points identified for your story
-begin writing information into your own words
-lab has been booked for both classes to work together as a class to ask and answer questions
-due date for the final project will be discussed on Tuesday

It is great being back and working with all of the students!

The students will be receiving assignments back tomorrow and Tuesday. It is essential that they return their tests the following day to be filed in their own personal files in the classroom.

1. Review of Units 9-11 in Grammar taken Fri.- please return Tues.

2. Spelling words from our new Ancient Greece section taken Fri. - please return Tues.

3. Rerview strategies 1-3 taken Fri. - please return Tues.

4. Media Literacy test will be returned to both classes once they have all completed the assignment on Mon.- please return Wed.

5. Social Studies test was marked some time ago. On this test sheet the students will be given their project mark as well as their design mark. These will be given to the students to record in their agendas on Monday and will not be sent home. This particular assignment will be filed in their personal files as I will be using information from all of these sources for their report card. Please ask to see their marks in their agendas on Monday!

The students will have told you that we are beginning a new unit on Ancient Greece and that we have been involved in research as well as viewing videos prior to beginning our text work. They have read some informatiuon from text and have generated questions from these sources that we will be addressing while we are studying our unit.

LA - return all Spelling/Grammar tests given today (due Tues)signed by a parent

- Paragraph using 10 words from your Grammar exercise- due Wed.
- Read each evening and continue to work on your write ups for the novel
presentation. Presentations will begin next week in class.

SS - students need to hand in additional pictures for our Prehistoric magazine Tue.
(only those students who I spoke to)
- Sk class- complete reading in SS pages 53-55 for Tues class/work to follow.

Other:
- Halloween costumes of an appropriate nature (as discussed), may be worn on Fri.
afternoon. Dress up! It is the last time for you to do this in this building!
- Please return Tri-Conference forms.
- Let's try to buy some bricks to build our school house for Africa. Every little
amount helps! With every $20.00 generated, we can place a brick on the school
house for the 8'S!
